The Lead/Deadwood area to me is one of my favorites. Hope you get a chance to enjoy the area. I'd love to retire there someday. Ton's of history if you are into it and that project has been a great boost to a faltering economy in the Black Hills...

Nothing against hard work and getting paid well for it, but why is it the Central Governments business to hunt for neutrinos?
If you want to find a neutrino pay for it yourself not with my tax dollar.

I suppose neutrino hunting isn't the stupidest thing the Central Government does but it's gotta be right up there.

How is the Sanford Lab funded?
$10 million HUD grant (2002).
$39 million from the state Legislature (2004, 2005, 2010).
$70 million donation from T. Denny Sanford (2006)
Barrick Gold donated Homestake mine to South Dakota (2006).
