Anyone have one..? What is your impression.?

Seller at Sportsman Warehouse highly recommends the unit.
I told him of Leupolds poor reviews on all their RF's and he seemed to wave that off and tell me how good this unit is.

I need it for both archery and rifle - wanting good solid readings to 600 or more yards, without fail.

If you have one of the new "i" versions with DNA, what's your take on it?

I sold my Leica 1200, got the Leupold 1000 with TBR and DNA. Works fine to at least 650 yds,750 on good days. Like the TBR part, the Leica didn't have.

I hope it's better than every other Leupold RF I've used.....they all were terrible.

The older Leupolds were some of the most terrible rangefinders I've ever used. Poor optics, poor ranging performance. Hopefully they fixed the problems. Try a Leica!

That's just it.... they're so new that there really aren't any reviews on it.

There's plenty on the old version, but not the "i" with DNA/TBR.

So that's my dilemma. No real-life use and reviews.

I don't want to drop $400 on something I'll hate!

I don't know how the DNA/TBR feature will help with the schit ranging and optics...

The best $400 you can spend on any rangefinder is on the Bushnell elite 1500. It's a darn good one.

For $400, you could get two elite 1500s, and they work well. Sure the optics are not as nice as the leicas but they will range quite a way. Another nice feature about them is the battery...9 volts are cheap and available everywhere.

Just where do you get them for that price? Cheapest I've seen is $360 for the 1500.

Check fleabay. I paid something like $208 for the NIB one I bought. I bought the black non ARC model and have ranged just shy of 1500 yards with mine. I did a tree at over 800 as the very first thing I ranged with it.

Leupold rangefinders are the worst I have used. Get a Zeiss PRF, Leica,or swarovski. These are all great rangefinders far better than any leupold.

Every Leupold RF I have ever looked through was junk, however I will say that the new Leupold RX-1000i TBR appears to be a step above their old schit. I work at Dicks Sporting goods part time and get to play with a variety of stuff and I have been impressed with this New Leupy RF. The first thing that gets your attention is the optics, it is hands down brighter than anything else we have (no Zeiss,Swaro or leica's) but lots of Bushnell, Nikon and the older Leupies. The other thing I really like is the illumitated aiming crosshair/box as opposed to a barely visible black crosshair, the Leupy reminds me of the CRF 1200 in that sense. And it ranges pretty damn fast though I havent really given it a field test.I definately think this new model is way better than the others but without a field test I cant say much else.

Good stuff, Randy. Thank you for posting.

I really "WANT" to like this RF.

I like everything about it so far. It was much nicer in all regards than the Bushnell 1200 I compared, side by side.

Me thinks I'll go pay it another visit.

It's a winner. Prior to that, I used a Bushnell Elite 1500 but the Leupold is huge upgrade. My Dad (83 years young) still uses a Leica I bought several years back, but the Leupold is faster, more compact, and more accurate.

OK, Randy...

I bought it!
It sure is a stunning little tool! I hope it works as well in the outdoors, as it does in my home.

I have late season archery blacktails and a damage rifle cow elk permit coming up soon. It's going to get used very soon.

Thanks all for the input!

I tried to warn you. You'll just end up getting a zeiss swarovski or leica later. The leupold will struggle to range a deer at 600 + yards. The ones I listed will range deer at 1000 yards easily. And they have much better glass.Good luck hope it works ok.
