I looked into this for my 338MX with a Leupold 2.5-8 x 36
What I found is that there are Low rings and then there are low rings. Huh??
Here's an example. Burris' low rings for the weaver base were slightly higher than Weaver's medium rings. Midwayusa used to have a chart listing ring heights.
Nothing on their list was as low as weaver rings. Keep in mind though, the table did not include a one piece ring / base kit. Sadly the quad lock do not come in low but were still lower than other companies' low rings. The next lowest was the Burris rings.
The other thing to take a look at is a beartooth comb elevation kit. Works great on my rifle.
http://www.beartooth-products.com/shop/vmchk/comb-raising-kits/-comb-raising-kit-brown.htmlPut it on, get the height correct and then let it sit for a while. This allows the foam time to warp to the stock from the pressure of the neoprene sleeve. Mine doesn't shift at all.
