Have a 16" colt 6920 with a 1-4x leupold on top. Scope is a mark AR. Carbine is stock. No trigger or float tube upgrades at all. Will shoot 1.5"-2" groups w good ammo and that scope. I think the best upgrade for the gun would be a good 3-4lb trigger. That usually shrinks my groups right off the bat. How many of you use low powered scopes for called coyotes out to 250 yards? My vision has become worse and worse the last few years and I can't shoot great groups w my low powered scopes or irons at all any more. Maybe buy two larue type mounts(or at least mounts that will return to 0) one with my close range and HD scope and another with a 2-10x for coyotes and deer?

I prefer a 6X. I have a 3-9 now but it stays on 6X mostly. I wouldn't sweat group size. I'd wait and see if the 4X causes you problems in the field. Dibs if you sell it. Travis

I am now using a Kahles American 3.5 x 10 on my Colt Carbine, it works for me, but I want a different mount than the RRA I am now using.

Scope may go for sure Travis. But I'll never sell that colt! Thanks for the input guys. I have a 2-8 nikon I really use a bunch. May just go to that.

Put the 2-8 on it yesterday and shot a solid 1" group at 100 with 63 grain sierras. with 8 power I could see the bullet holes easily even on a very overcast day. Anyone looking for a 1-4 mark AR lemme know. I'll trade for an equal value 3-9 or 2-8 if anyone is intersted.

I would love to get a 2.5 x 10 Summit for my AR, I think that would be the cat's meow.

Very interesting...
I put a 2.5-8 on my Noveske 16" and it just didn't suit me so I went back to my 1.5-5. I sold the 2.5-8 to my son in law and may pick up another 3.5-10 since I have an extra LaRue mount, I could swap em back and forth when needed like I do my red dot or just keep an extra rig ready for steel or whatever.
