Anyone have any feedback on the Hammerili .22 pistols being sold by Sigarms? I believe they are call "Trailblazer". Thanks for your replies.

jay,

I have a Trailside 4.5" Target and it works fine, now.

Some early pistols had magazine problems, the newer ones have magazines with a small slit in the lips. Also, it is my understanding that the slide has been upgraded with a thicker lock notch.

The early ones were paper thin and could chip or break (mine did). They will fix the pistol. It is not of the quality I've come to expect from Hammerli. I owned a 208S and the pistols are similar in design, but that's the only similarity.

It is very accurate with decent sights.

But, if you want a good reliable plinker, stick with a Ruger or move up to a Pardini if you're serious about bullseye.

JB,
Sorry to hear about the Trailside's quality or lack there of. Came very close to buying one of the match models in January of 01'. Must have been the inflatable grips that got me going;-). Regards, Matt.

Matt,
I was dissapointed to say the least. The pistols have been trickling in over the last year or so and I took a chance. The low bore axis and 212 looks really got me stirred up. I owned a 208s a long time ago and thought an inexpensive version would be nice. The castings (with obvious sprue marks) put me off. A little more time in finishing would have pleased me. I got the impression that the pistol was "thrown" together.

It would shoot 1" groups at 25 yards.

I understand some, if not all, of the problems have been rectified. But, "once bitten, twice shy".

Thanks for the replies. I currently have a Ruger and a Browning and have been happy with both. You know how it is, though, you always want something else! I guess after reading your replies, I'll reconsider buying a Trailside for now. Thanks!
