Patched roundballs still work! #5753263 10/27/11

OP fyshbum Campfire Regular Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 1,479 Southern Maryland	Last day of early Muzzleloader for either sex, doe only this week. Shot with T.C. sidelock .45 roundball over 70 grains of Pyrodex RS. Shot at 20 feet off the ground while still hunting. First kill with the new to me .45. Dressed #172. Caught him on trail cam last week for the first time in the food plot: Nothing is fool proof for a sufficiently talented fool !! "Keep your booger hook off the bang switch until your sights are on the target".

I shot a number of game with the 45 and round balls and finally just didn't like the way it worked and moved up to maxi type conicals and LOVED the way those worked. But I'm hoping to try a 19 ga round ball in 2 weeks.... I suspect it'll work, just have to keep teh smoothbore shot up close and pray it doesn't misfire like it does now and then... We can keep Larry Root and all his idiotic blabber and user names on here, but we can't get Ralph back..... Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over....

Not much to cull like in Texas. Now, talk to the local game managers about culling foreign exchange students... Talking to you is like trying to nail jello to the wall.

I too have taken deer with a round ball and patch, it still works! (shoulda been a .50 though ) Beware of any old man in a profession where one usually dies young. Calm seas don't make sailors.
