That is the exact load I used for 130 ABs in Lapua brass in my last swede, a K1A Ruger, 2780 in 22" bbl, and 1.1" for 3 at 200 yds. It flattened a deer at 250 yds.....never left spot - DRT.
129s have a long track record on game. You should be set for any non dangerous game.

Ramshot 4.5 data at their web site has a few 6.5x55 loads. Their 140-gr Partition Ramshot load looks good. About 2775 fps 55k psi in 24" barrel. They have a good 125-gr Partition load, too.
I think the Ramshot powders are temperature stable, ball type - easy to measure.

I have a model 38 Swede, model 700 classic, and a Ruger 77 MKII in the swede. Here are a few loads that have worked well for me in the past.
100gr Ballistic Tip over 44grs of 4064 for 3050fps and .75" groups.
120 Nosler Solid base over Rel-19 for 2800fps
129 Hornady Sp over WXR [Rel-22] for 2750 fps
I had hoped to use the 100gr Noslers on some NC whitetails, but the damned Marlin 30-06 is so accurate and reliable the Remington 6.5x55 never left the case.
I don't drink or Smoke. I spend my money on gunpowder and gasoline.

They make a CZ-550 in 6.5 Swede, I have one in .270 and absolutely love it. Great shooter, and you won't find a better factory trigger anywhere, period.

Vapodog, nice rifle, my problem now is finding a 6.5x55!!! Like the 257Bob, Ruger is about the only one making that other then Kimber to much $, CZUSA and Tikka are about the only ones making a 6.5swede that I know of, any help is welcome. Bob
Thanks, Bob Too many calibers and not enough time for the working man to hunt with them all.

Bob Is building one out of the question?....I learned to do it so it's not at all impossible! The M-98 Mauser is a good platform for the .257 Roberts and the swede. I've also built the 6mm Remington on the VZ-24 action!

Building one would not be out of the question, just need a good action, heck I live less then 30 miles from Boots Obynmier and Krieger barrel companies, my last 2 builds had Boots's barrels on them, if they are good enough for the FBI and CIA they are good enough for me. Seems the only to compaies importing complete rifles in the 6.5 sm is Howa, CZ Usa and Sako. Tikka does not import it to Beretta anymore. I am getting real fustrated. If I buy used seems there are allot on older Mauser type/variations of actions on the net but would like to see, hold and talk to the owner if buying used. I like wood and wood stock companies are getting scarest, my other ones had Fajen stocks, but must admit those Micmillan stocks sure look good I see here. Bob

Mine is a Winchester M-70 Featherweight (CRF). It wears a 3x9 conquest. The load that normally gets used is the 129 grainer and 45.5 grains of 4350. I wish I knew for sure what the case brand is, the are marked C A.
I have played with 120 grain b/tips, and 100 grainers. I got a few 160 Hornandy round noses loaded up but never hunted with them.

Mine is a M70 Featherweight CRF. it was a later Newhaven rifle and the bedding was horrible but after fixing that it'll put 120 NBT's into a about .8 at 100 and puts 140 XLC's into 1.5". haven't shot anything with it but have taken it after bears and moose.. maybe i need to pull it out and go shoot something with it?? always liked that rifle. just feels right in my hands...
I can't spell... Deal with it...

I have a Sako 75 Finlight in 6.5X55 I shoot 120 sierras with RL-19 and 129 Hornadys with RL-22. The gun shoots great. I've killed a few antelope and a mule deer with it.

I wish I knew for sure what the case brand is, the are marked C A.
The CA (Century) headstamp appeared at the same time that Hansen started contracting Prvi and Igman to make a range of "US" calibres with Boxer Primers.( including 6,5x55).
The first thing to note was that the 6,5x55 cases are drawn on the same dies used to make 30.06, and so are a litlle undersized at the head ( .471 vs .476)
As the Yugo factories had never made Boxer Primers, they imported initial batches from Norma, hence the "NP" primer marking. BY the time both Hansen and CA had ceased importing the 6,5 Swede, the Yugos were into their civil war, and all boxer case making stopped. When they re-started, and commercialised their operations for the greater Europen and US Markets in the mid to late 1990s, they had made their own Boxer Primers for use in "Export" ammo.
The CA ammo initally was packed in plain "White Box" ( cubic, not flat) with simple black print labelling. ( 4x5, not 2x10)...very similar to the original Swedish Military Boxes, but not as robust. (thinner card, simple flap seal)
Probably one of the first "Home brands" of ammo on the US scene.

I am looking at the Howe/Hoque and Tikka T3, but from all opinions here seem to go stronger on the T3 as a real shooter and better stock, and a bit cheaper. Fit will be a deciding factor to some degree. I like the 70 degree bolt on the T3 but not the clip and clip bulge on a bolt.
Thanks, Bob Too many calibers and not enough time for the working man to hunt with them all.
