Week 12-169

I seem to have hit a plateau. In fact, I skipped posting last week because I was too pizzed at myself for not making any progress.

I'm starting to think that my low carb approach has harvested all the low hanging (weight loss) fruit and that I'm going to have to find time in my schedule to add an exercise routine.

One more week to go and that's it. I'm planning to renew my efforts and hope to drop a couple more pounds by the end.

BTW, it seems to me that one or two others were NOT looking forward to the end of the contest. If there's anybody looking to continue this, I'm game. We could do it via PMs or maybe rrroae wouldn't mind us keeping this thread going.

Best of luck to all in this last week of the contest, and thanks again to rrroae for giving me a kick in the seat to drop some ###s.

And today:

Net loss of 18 pounds but if I factor in the 10 pounds Rex said I would gain that's 28, right? Waddo I win Rex? grin

Seriously though, I could have done much better but didn't, but am happy losing 18 at this point. Much better than gaining. What this has done is encourage me to persist and lose more each month. This little contest has no doubt contributed positively to many peoples lives, and for that Rex deserves a well earned thanks! I hope all the rest did better than I did, and congratulations to all!

Congratulations to everyone on a job well done. I've lost a total of 39 1/4 lbs since this contest started but I had started well before the start date and have lost a total of 55 1/2 lbs to date still have a goal of 190 so 3 lbs to go plus then maintaining that weight. Tried to post a pic of the scales but have a new phone and still trying to learn how to work it, maybe a little later I can post the pic.

I think Drycreek ran away with this one. Great job bud!!

Need everyone to post their final weight loss totals to see if we hit 500 lbs combined and also to see who took 2nd and 3rd.

Remember, if the combined total weight loss of everyone here was 500 lbs, the original prize money doubles.

1st - $100
2nd - $50
3rd - $25

If combined weight loss is 500lbs or more -

1st - $200
2nd - $100
3rd - $50

I have lost only 10 pounds. Fell off the wagon, but getting back on the past week or so...

Congrats to all who lost!

Started at 258.6 and ended at 238.2. Gained a couple lbs back during hunting season.

Need everyone to weigh in so we can add up the figures and give some money out. Deadline is Sunday and we'll figure out winners by then.

Thanks, and right back at you on the motivation. In fact, you starting this thread is the one and only reason I've finally gotten serious about slimming down so Thank You Very Much!

I'm gonna keep trying to shed the weight; got at least 10 more pounds to go.

Well, this is how it looks -

1st - Drycreek
2nd - PeteE
3rd - Bruinruin

We didn't get anywhere close to 500 lbs so the original prize money is in affect.

If you winners can, send me either your mailing address or paypal info and we'll get you squared away.

Might run this contest again after the first of the year.

A great big thank you for the added inspiration. If you run this again after the first I'll be on the sidelines encouraging everyone on as my goal of 190 has been reached and the fun of maintaining this weight has begun, I can gain a lb by just looking at a bowl of icecream. I will say that I have reduced my pant size from a size 40 down to a size 34 and my shirts are now large instead of extra large. The best thing though out of this past 6 to 7 months has been the fact that I now no longer take blood pressure medicine, cholestrol medicine, triglyceride medicine or metformin for sugar it has been a 17 year battle and I would have never guessed that weight loss and eating different plus 1 1/2 hours 5 nights a week at the gym would have made this much differenc. I want say its been easy but it's a he## of lot better than the pills plus I feel better now than I have in a long long time. Something that is also neater than double he## is that on the first of Oct My youngest son (34 years old) and I went to Wyoming on a mule deer and antelope hunt and I was able to give him a run for his money on anywhere from 1 to 2 1/2 mile hikes. He had never seen me at such a low weight, as I had always during his life weighed around 248 to 260 I think he was a little surprised that the old man could keep up as well as lead the way on these hikes.

Again Thanks to you rrroae for the added encouragement.

And last but not least fellows keep up the efforts and I know you will reach your goals.

Congratulations on your accomplishment, Drycreek. Your post encourages me to be sure. I wish you the best success on your maintenance program and am sure you can do it given your recent successes and all the positives you are enjoying from them. Great job!
