Honestly, I'm starting to hope that he actually does win the nomination so I can say "Tolja so" in a couple years. Being proved wrong, though, wouldn't suck either. Pipe dream....

Perot didn't do anything. The party of "Read my lips . . . no new taxes" did. It will be the same thing this time if Romney wins the nomination. Conservatives and Reagan Dems will vote for Paul over Romney. The Carl Roves of the party better get used to it.

Fair enough. To tell you the truth I hadn't even heard of Ron Paul before the 2008 election. When he talked, it really resonated with me. Pipe dreams and tinfoil? Probably. But I believe what I believe.

However, I was even more obnoxious 4 years ago.

Four years ago, I would have been right there with you. I convinced a lot of people (relative, of course) that I talked with to drop the hammer for Paul. Things change...

Here are a couple of more things to consider.

1. Even if Obama is relelected because Paul splits the Repub vote, there will be plenty of Tea Party Representatives and Senators elected and the Dems will lose control of the Seante. Nothing that Obama want to do will be passed by Congress and he will be forced to either sign or veto the ensuing legislation.

2. Most all of the negative comment on here attacks Paul the man, or his appearance, or voice, but there is no intellegent rebuke of his call for return to Constitutional principles. I remember how the RINOs/Neo-Cons attacked Reagan the man in the campaign.

If the butt-wipes in the GOP would allow him to participate, and the media would give him the credit he is due, he would be a shoe in. If Obama gets a 2nd term, it will be because the GOP made it happen. Don't lay this at Paul's doorstep. BTW, I care not which banner Paul runs under...he has our votes. No one else is credible or has a record or the character to run against him. Get over it.

Pretty simple actually...take a play from the Dems playbook...Executive orders...Congress hasn't done a thing about Obama's EO's or his appointing Czars to high positions. Paul can do the same thing and eradicate a lot of the damage that has been done over the decades in a single term.
