Dave, how about some info on the Tucker. Year, power plant, history etc.

If anyone wants to keep up with the Dave's, there's a Tucker for sale in the Polonia, WI area which is about 10 miles East of me. It's listed at $13,500, I believe the trail groomer is included.

I'm not too rev'd up about it bill, it's quite a project.

I'm working with the owner on a trade deal for an old tractor I no longer use.

That old tucker needs a lot of work.

It's a 1963 with a 6 cylinder chrysler industrial engine and a manual trans.

The only thing I'm really liking is the sedan body. You can fit 8 people in it. 6 would be more comfortable though, especially with winter clothing on.

Yep, sometimes.

I can't even come close to Muffy's goodies she makes though. I was thinking of looking for jobs in her neck of the woods just for the deer camp treats. laugh

Good job Ryan!

Made it out to the range this morning with the 06 and 6.5. The 6.5 surprised me this year. Grouped right in at one inch. Last year the best I could do was 2". Maybe getting more rounds through her helped.

The 06 did it's usual boring 1", but I did have to make a slight vertical adjustment. Damm Remington 700's are just plain boring. smile

here's the update on the home improvement projects. wanted to try out hand at sprucing up a room, so we decided our Cellar under the stairs would make a nice pilot project to see if we had what it took. decided to try our hand at tiling, and putting up some pine V notch (carsiding) on the walls. here are a few pics of how it went over the last couple weeks.

not a great "before" pic, but its all we have, the room is 10x7 for some reason the picture is coming in sideways, sorry about that.

Prepping for tile

Kendra workin her magic with the tile, she might lay it slow, but it is perfect when she's done
[Linked Image]

floor tiled, 2x2 framing up and some vapor barrier
[Linked Image]

Putting some of the V notch up, Kendra was nice enough to stain it all while I was at work
[Linked Image]

and the end product, took several evenings over the last couple weeks, juggling deer killin with home improvements on our time off, and a little "help" from little man.
[Linked Image]

all in all I think it turned out great, now on to the laundry room!

Looks great Ryan. The problem is you start to like what you're doing, and try a little bigger project each time. grin ask me how I know.

I love being able to see the progress when you begin a project though. It makes your house a home.

Nice job, both of you.

I started on the laundry room at 5 am instead of going hunting, I would say it is addicting!

I tend to only hunt during the week anyway, unless its an opening day for something.

It took me two years to completly finish my basement at our other house. We bought the house as an unfinished "spec" home and the basement was just a shell. The only thing that was done was partial plumbing for the bathroom, and the "hook ups" for the laundry, but no laundry room.

I was at Home Depot literally every weekend for 2 years, and probably twice during the week. I can't remember how many 2x4's I bought, it was over 200. Betsy remembers.

The only things I didn't do was the electric hook up to the pannel, the switches for the lighting, hvac, and plumbing for the bath/bar and the building the cabinets for the bathroom. My step dad did that, he builds them for a living. We saved probably $15K by doing it ourselves.

I finished it on Easter Sunday of 2010 and we put the house up for sale on the Monday after easter. I was nearly heart broke that we put all the sweat, blood, and cuss words into and listed it for sale the next day. I didn't go down there until I had to get my guns out of the basement to move. It was beautiful and I couldn't enjoy it.

I have some re-model ideas for this house, but Ma wants no part of it. I'm stating with the garage. grin

I'm at work so I can't access photobucket, but I'll throw on some pics when I get home.

Minne soda opens on the 5th? Dang we have to wait till the 15th. I can see this next week is going to be tuff on the crew. We have about 300 acres of corn and 250 of sugar beets to do yet...and it's too wet to do either today. We've swept the floor in the shop twice this morn....I think it's time to head to camp for a couple days and hope for drier weather.....Have a great weekend all!
