A 25-06 on a Savage 110 action 26" Pacnor, Weatherby mkV ulw 25-06.
Whitetail and Antelope is all I have used them on.
117 SST is the bullet of choice for me. Very accurate!
A buddy shoulder shot a young bull elk with same and blood mushed a front quarter (no surprise) so ribs are his only target now.
I've not shot an elk with the .25SST. That's more of a 45-70 kind of target for me.

250-3000 Savage M99A - Whitetail deer and coyotes

Twin Ruger tang safety M77s .257 Roberts - Antelope, Black bear, Mule and Whitetail deer, coyotes.

PS, forgot - I picked up a long throat tang safety M77 .257 Roberts recently and it has not been bloodied.

700 Classic, .25-06
700 SPS-SS, .257 Weatherby, now in a Mickey Classic Swirley

I'd hunt 'lopes, blacktail/mulies/whitetails with either, probably use them for spike or cow elk too, if I didn't have bigger guns that need to go for walks in the woods.

Looking at picking up a Hawkeye in .257 Roberts. Love to find a .250 Savage also, but I suspect I'll have to build one. At some point, I may get an M70 Sporter in .25-06, too.

Thanks, I had been looking for a while for something clever to use. Came upon it one day, just wish I had been the one to take the pic.

I had a Sako A7 in 25-06. It killed several hogs and whitetails.

Now have a Sako 85 Finnlight 25-06 that has hunted Mole deer but no kills yet.

Well, the best ideas are usually borrowed laugh

As to 25's, I've only owned/used the 250 Savage and 257 Roberts. Bigger 25's have never held an interest for me.

The 77 year old, non-Ai'd Rob is my favorite by a mile... New England/American ingenuity at its finest, and the best use for the 7x57 ever devised.

Back in high school I hunted with M70 Winlite in 25-06, it is the only rifle I wish I had back. 22" barrel, McMillian stock, very handy.

The 84M Bob is a pretty decent replacement.

I have a Tikka T3 in .25-06 that I have used on whitetail, mule deer, antelope and coyotes. It is HOT DEATH with basic Fusion ammo!

I also have a Weatherby Mark V .257 Wby Mag that has been used on whitetails and coyotes. Currently bedding the action on it so that its a true 400 yd gun....just not shooting as well as I'd like it to. Working up a load for it with 100gr TSX and RL22.....hopefully will be shoooting about 3700fps and MOA or sub MOA when its all done!

Ditto here, my favorite rifle. Have carried it to hunt prairie dogs, coyotes, antelope, deer and elk but the deer and elk have eluded me while it was in my hands.

No, I'm not a Ruger bigot - just an unabashed fan of their revolvers, M77's and #1's.

A good .30-06 is a 99% solution.

257AI for the sons, deer, antilope and Elk, 115NP DRT. Currently deciding between a Bob or a 6.5 Swede to make up for me, I am a traditionlist and great cartdriges.

Thanks,
Bob
