So about that truthcam I was so excited about setting up tonight...

I head to the camp from home all excited about setting up my new truth cam.

The packaging and instructions say that primos has eliminated the noisy shutter, "zero noise" now, and they also say "200% better battery life"

Well the battery life was outstanding on the original truth cams so this must damn near charge batteries when you turn it on grin

SO I'm within a couple miles from camp when Pam calls. "You realize your new camera isn't with you right? It's at home here, I'm holding it..."

shocked

I turn around & head home for the cam.

Meanwhile, I had stopped at a little country store along the way and purchased 4 C cell batteries and a deer license.

So I have the camera now and I'm almost to camp again. I decide to rip open the batteries as I'm driving and load them into the camera..... Wrong batteries, it takes D cell batteries.

Turn around again, back to the country store, D batteries... off I go again...
Get to the cabin, take Dusty's prowler across the swamp to the new stand where I want to set the camera.

No SD card... SD card is back at the cabin....

crazy

Back across the swamp, get the card from cabin, cross the swamp again.. set the camera, with the card as it's becoming very dark.

Out of the swamp with the headlights on..

How'd that go for me?

I think it's deer week, my brain is fried.

Tzone,
South Carolina has one of the longest deer seasons in the country.
The southern part of the state, called "the low country" starts August 15th.for archery, then Sept. 15 for muzzle loader and Oct. 1 for gun.The northern part called "the upstate" which is where I live starts archery Sept. 15th.Muzzle loader starts Oct.1st and gun season starts Oct. 15th. and ends January 1st.Bucks are legal anytime during the season. In addition you can purchase up to four "use anytime" doe tags but there are set doe days when you don't have to use the tags.It is a good long season.

Sr. Dave,

I do love me some truff cam. Euff to buy two of them. They do make a noise when they take a picture though. It doesn't do it every time, but there is a "click" before it takes a picture. I noticed it when it is on the sleep mode. once it is taking pictures and gets past the first "click" it seems fine.

That said, I only have one picture of a scared deer and it was from last week with the bucks were chasing the heck out of them. It could have been a buck or a Flying Bear. either one.

Tom,
Linda and I moved here 14 years ago from Atlanta where I lived for 30 years and we have never looked back. This is a great place.Nice people, good climate, one hour north to the mountains and four hours south to Myrtle Beach, reasonably priced housing and prices of consumer goods are sensible.A recent study placed Greenville,SC in number six of the top ten places to live in the US.I live in Simpsonville which is a suburb of Greenville.

We are starting to think of a trip out that way. I'd love to go to Myrtle Beach and run down to Savana,GA for a day. Lots of American History in that part of the country that I haven't been able to see.

Good luck stan! I hope you heat up the barrel of your friend's old rifle! Break the silence of the hunt with a bark from that gun.

Big Green Lake is a popular fishing spot. Very deep lake. With the exception of the Great Lakes it's one of the few inland lakes in WI that has Lake Trout. The area is also close to Lake Winnebago.
