Ugh...this is not fair! I keep reading about your opening days starting soon. I gotta wait til November 19th!
However, this is the first year we can use rifle in my county, so I am super excited to finally break the 110 in on a deer. Had it for 10 years and the only blood it has is a bunch of woodchucks. Missed a small buck in the dacks the first year I had it.
I'd rather have a bad day hunting than a good day working!

Good news/bad news. The good news is, the elk mount looks great. The bad news is, the wife somehow thought I was getting just the horns done and she isnt too happy about the shoulder mount in her house. I never said horn mount, I dont know where she got that from. She wont even help me carry it in. Berettaman in beeg twouble.

Just ask her "your trophy" wife if she would rather be just a horn mount or the full shoulder mount. only make sense you go all out, right! she's your keeper and you woulnd't want that to get away.

Dave, have you been making scrapes on your chair legs their at work yet this week? They make me wear soft bunny slippers and a special helmet with the padding on the outside so I can't wreck stuff at work now.

You might as well throw up some pics of the mount so we can see exactly WHY your rut is ruined.

Gun safe was my guess too.
So T, I'm guessin saturday nights indulgence led to Sunday's headache that you spoke of? That would be correct. I led to a complete waste of a day. It's happened too much, more than I'd care to admit.

noduck,pardon my ignorance."Picked up a wheelhouse"????????
All you guys chomping at the bit up "nort".Move to South Carolina.I went deer hunting this morning.I saw nothing but scrapes and rubs and tracks. They are there.A bumper crop of acorns is giving them ample food without moving around too much.

"wheel house" Portable ice fishing house with it's own steel chassis and axle system under it. Pull it like a camper or enclosed utility trailer. And... the wheels contract upwards on site so the "house" lets down tight to the ground. "wheel house" And I agree Stan, we all need to move in with you, then we wouldn't need such silly things. Thanks for taking us all in!

Rooster7, Here is the offending beast. And to complete the view from my desk: Anyone know why the pictures I post are so small?

what's not to like? I'd be happy with him.
Is that an ultra rare largemouth paddlebass in the upper right of the first picture?

Still no Chickenbuck cap. UGH!!
Hoping to get the sign done for this weekend. I was informed that the smell in the garage was too much and was asked if I could do it outside cuz he had to put a new fuel pump in the Suburban. So needless to say I didn't get any coats of urethane on it today because it was too cold.
I am out of order until further notice. My "stupid people" filter needs cleaning and my "give a damn" batteries have run out.
