The weather outside is so beautful right now before season, a bit brisk today, but come saturday morning in the stand it'll be super nice. Lots of hunting to be had in the next 2 weeks and alot of fun stops at deer camps. Good luck to all, and have a safe season. this will get the deers moving too!

I have a guy from CO, here convinced it's a MN tradition to make an intestine jump rope with the whitetail deer we get. He's says he's going to ask the guys at his camp. grin I hope he does. Couldn't quite get him convinced that we tear the wind pipe out with our bare hands, stick it in our mouths and violently shake head side to side....Told him that was pretty common in the WI camps. laugh

Got an intern (city kid) convinced the wolves were nearly extinct because of the "fanged" deer of pine forests of northern MN and Ontario. Those fanged deer tore the hell out of the wolves and actually learned to hunt the wolves down. grin

I'm in the witch doctors, with a g'damn IV in my arm. I'm not happy so don't nobody call me. I'm fine, just having some stuff checked out.

Stupid Pam found out about some pain I've been waiting out and dealing with. Now here I am. And I'm not happy about it.

Looking for kidney stones etc.

On a different note, white bear got his new toy.

Crap! Great timing Dave. Hope all turns out ok. I'm sure we could arrange to get you to your stand and hang the IV on a tree limb if need be.

Just talked to Tom and he said he heading up to Duluth early Friday AM.

Isnt it funny....well maybe not the best choice in words....that things always have a knack of happening just before something you have been waiting for a long time.

Just got off the phone with Tzone. Really wish he could be up there this season.

The sign is done!!!! It is not completely dry yet but it is going to make it's way up nort. Heading up there tomorrow(hopefully by noon) after I get the rest of my stuff done.

I will help you into your stand with your IV Dave. Get well!

Good luck hunting everyone!

Thanks for the offer on the hat Stan. I thought about going into the place that made them and tell her I have an emergency and need one now!!!! But mine has to be somewhere. Who knows maybe I left it at camp.

I am out of order until further notice. My "stupid people" filter needs cleaning and my "give a damn" batteries have run out.

I hope they were just putting an IV in you to give you contrast for a CT scan or something or some other diagnostic test and not to treat fluid or electrolyte imbalances or dehydration.

Have a great hunt Dave, and everyone else. I am completely packed, and hopefully will be grilling venison this time Saturday while my hunting partner is sauteing up the mushrooms and onions in some real butter.

Some flank pain can keep you awake and focused in the stand.

IV was for fun I think? fun for them?

Actualy they did a blood draw from it, juiced me with a milder pain killer than what they wanted to give me (at my request) then started pumping water to try and help force this wonderful stone thats on its way to my bladder.

Thats the one they say is hurting me right now, and there is no shortage of stones left in the kidneys waiting for their turn to pass.

Doc came in, said some doctor stuff, then pointed at the saline pump and said "you don't have to take that if you dont want it" I said "what's it do for me?" he says "same as drinking water.."

I reached over to my arm and snapped the clamp shut on the tube.

which stalled the pump and made it alarm out.

I'll just drink water the old fashioned way thanks very much.

He wants me back in right away to see my regular doc to come up with a plan for treating this I guess.

Maybe next Wed or so I'm thinking.
