Talk about a great Saturday afternoon with your kids! Had all three of the kids along, and almost was able to get Madison set up on a cow, but still connected with this 3x4 raghorn. The kids were super excited, as was I. Good friends were rallied in record time, and we got it out whole! Now hanging in the barn, frozen solid! The rest of the season is for my wife and daughter. It was my youngest's first outing with dad, as we did not draw antelope tags this year. He is hooked! Hunt with your kids (and wife), so you won't have to hunt for them.

Excellent Matt! Good freinds indeed...you know who your good freinds are during elk season by who answers their calls after seeing your name on caller ID...

I'd rather have a bad day hunting than a good day working!

That looks great. I would hunt with the kids and wife but all the Elk seem to be beyond the range they are comfortable with, (if they have not moved to private) , and we have a pretty good amount of snow on the ground, where the elk are.

Great bull Matt! Way cool you were able to have the kids there.
From the looks of the vegetation there it looks like you were pretty close to home.

Nice!!! I never saw an elk with that dark of hair on its legs.
Thanks, Bob Too many calibers and not enough time for the working man to hunt with them all.

Thanks everyone. I was VERY happy, and excited. After I shot, they were all still wispering, and finally they asked if they could talk, and if we were done... I laughed and we all proceeded to do a little dance and hug each other. We were all grins.
I am not an "elk every year" guy - I just work too much - so this is great for me.
I agree that the black hair on his legs is pretty cool. I have seen it a fair amount around here, but I understand your point, as it sometimes is interesteign how different each elk can be.
Regards,
Matt
