It's a mess over here. About 3" of heavy wet snow so far. Heavy enough to snap off about a 12" birch just down the street and lots of limbs down.

We ventured out about a hour ago. There was a sale at Kohls and the wife had 30% off. Streets are very slick. Lots of accidents in the area. We saw 2 while we were out.

Oh...well that's no where near as fun as if you went to a doc that didn't know you well.

well the big ol rutty stinky bucks are shutting us out. gave it a good try last nite. My right leg really fell asleep as I sat on a small stool in the canary grass...I must have looked pretty funny when I finally stood as that leg was about useless! But no confirmed sightings (there were a couple of big deer that entered the other end of the field but it was too dark to see what they were). Dad is going to move a stand and sit a spell tonite. Man, I hope he can connect. We hunt pretty darn hard and it sure would be nice for him to have some success. Plus, i just wanna close up view of that one big'un!

It is kinda funny how when I was a kid, he wanted me to be successful and offered me the best places, etc to hunt. Then we were equals for a long time. Now, I try and do what I can so that he gets the shooting. Pretty soon my kids will be old enough to hunt and the whole process starts over. I am looking forward to the day they....do my gutting and dragging for me!

We are in the homestretch now as our season ends Sunday. Saturday is the day. If I get one, it will be Saturday I believe. Although i think i will take the girl out tomorrow or Friday as she really wants to go.

I just got done reading the kidney stone thread and feel the need to apologize after reading the testimonials in there. My God! shocked I had no idea that they caused that kind of misery and I hope I never find out!

So my friend Dave, I humbly apologize for making light of your situation. OUCH! eek

Don't be silly rooster, what kind of guys would we be if we couldn't make fun of each other when we are enduring blinding pain? Lol!

Pam says I have to go in to see the gut pirates next week for a better assessment and a treatment plan.

Meanwhile I hope to harvest a few deer kidneys and save em in zip lock bags in case they figure I need new ones.

wink

I dare ya to bring them deer kidneys to the doc!

I mean C'mon! I know you got the stones for it!

Oh geez! There I go again! DAMMIT! STUPID! STUPID! STUPID!!!

grin

He called me today on his way home. He stayed up to more days to boil the head and hang out with grampa.

I had told him that the fellas up nort where not seeing much but When he stopped at the dear killing factory (Uncles place camp 99) ant there had only been one deer seen in 4 days, he realized just how lucky he was.

One day he will be forced out of the woods by RP (loosing his sight) so I cant hold it against him.....much smile

Tent camp Isabella reporting in.

0900 this morning a suicidal 7 point was found wondering infront of my stand. He was dispatched with a 7-08 140 TSX.

Pictures to follow as I get them uploaded.

Congrats TJAY.

I've yet to see a deer from a stand. Saw a doe on the way out earlier this week but thats it.

I'd like to shoot one tomorrow...11/11/11 would be a cool day to get a nice buck.
