Damn, to think I learned deer hunting and hunting in general from my dad, uncles, and assorted others at camp. That and also some trial and error on my own, reading what other successful hunters do, etc... I am hardly a prolific deer slayer but I am comfortable in the fact that I am safe, don't violate any game laws, and enjoy my time in the field. I hope to pass along my values to my children.

Lessee here....
1. Regular old .270 rifle 2. Fixed 4x scope with 40mm objective. 3. Handloads used. 5. > 50 yard shots. 6. 40 acres hunted.
I had better go stitch back together the two deer I shot last weekend and send 'em back out to the woods.

There is no hope for me as I use a shotgun. I suppose I should just quit. I will prolly never even see a deer toting that thing around. and a tree stand...how stupid of me. hey, pass the venison sausage, wouldja?

Next Wednesday I will start hunting season on 100 acres of hardwood forest, in a make shift ground blind with my 20" barrelled 7mm-08 and 2x7x32 mm scope shooting 154 gr handloaded RN bullets out to 150 yds or so....I better just call my boss and tell him I will work instead... Bone collector boy is a bonehead, you should have slapped him just because... You have to love the mentality, I'm sure the gun shop does with a 300 RUM, 56 mm scope shooting 50 yds the educated youth of america..boy are we in trouble

Could have been a time for some education of a potential young hunter?

I will make a note to self that if I ever get to hunt in the great state of NC, I need to get a more powerful caliber to hunt your tough skinned deer. Too funny-thanks for sharing. I needed a laugh!

I agree with CIGAR, he needs to have the snot bubbles slapped out of him and then taken to the range and woods and given a real education. The saddest thing is that some of these morons believe the crap they spew like it was gospel. I just returned from a coues deer hunt in Az and was impressed by the number of young knowledgable hunters I talked to. Some of them are getting it right.

It would be easier to teach my neighbor's jackass to sing Italian Opera in Mandarin Chinese than it would be to beat any sense into this kid. He is a lost cause.
