I'd like to shoot one tomorrow...11/11/11 would be a cool day to get a nice buck. An 11 pointer of course - or an 11 x 11 even better.
Save an elk, shoot a cow.

tonite Lauren and I went out and saw 22 in that field. 2 of them were bucks, a little 6 that I passed up and a bigger one a long way off when it was getting dark. It wasnt big enough that I would have shot it, but it had a decent rack. Lauren had a blast! Man, does she have good eyes, too. She saw 2 does still in the canary grass at about 400 yards. I tell ya what, i was a pretty proud dad when I saw that in fact they were deer. It sure is fun sharing something like that with your kids.
So I got to thinking....would I rather share a very enjoyable evening with my kid(s) in a deer stand, see a lot of deer and nature.....or shoot a big buck? After a little contemplation, I easily determined I would rather shoot the big buck. What...ya thinkin' I am going soft on you guys or what??

Good job TJAY. Getting to be crunch time. Need to get the BBQ and spaghetti meat cooked up today. My buddy called yesterday. He's leaving LA Saturday. and will be in WI Sunday. BTW those missing boots showed up the other day. They were right where I saw them last. I swear I looked in that spot several times. The sneaky bastids must have snuck back in when I was out of the house.

Its a little breezy in the woods this morning but nothing like last weekend. My trail cam picked up a nice doe in front of my stand at zero dark 30 this morning too.
Cap't Bangflop, Runs with scissors and I are giving it our best this morning.

Good luck hunting this weekend boys and Muffy! Plays with matches and I are off to watch Cries Like Baby aka Weezie in her last high school swim meet. Swim hard Weez, we are very proud of you. Also wanted to say a big thank you to ND aka husband for serving our country, and to the past, present and future servicemen and women. For all you give up and all you do, I for one appreciate you more than you'll know. Have a great weekend everyone.

Nice work TJ! Thanks everyone for the personal well wishes on veterans day, very nice of everyone. I echo those same sentiments, thanks so much those currently serving and the many that have come home and hung it up, and of course for those that gave everything. Runs with scissors put a deer on the pole for us this afternoon! Good job boy!

A big thank you to all the veterans who served our country.
Congrats RWS...come on Dave, what did he get?
I'm still on the drought. Not a single deer sighted from a stand. I have seen them near the truck and at the road on my way to and from hunting, but nothing where I can shoot.
I'm giving it one more real shot tomorrow morning. Then I'm headed home to cut up my BIL's deer.
The good news is....I'll most likely have an open buck tag for forky toes in a couple weeks.
Camp is where you make it.
