Blue book (2 yrs old) 330 (1969-1980): 95% $440 90% $385 25% extra for both barrels
...in the 333 (1973-1980: 95% $575 90% $500 20ga as rare in the 333 , add 30% as a two barrel set add 25%
Sorry, not much help.

thanks Jed, Rick
I picked it up , it pointed well, snapped nicely, and was in mint shape. Worse case scenario my boys can use it with the 20 guage barrel.
thanks brian

Bcolorado, I had a 330 and loved it except for one thing - I never could get the single trigger to work properly. It liked to double, so I had it cleaned by a gunsmith. Then it would sometimes hang up and not fire, so I took it to another gunsmith. Next time I used it, it fired when I closed the action. I'll have to get back to you on the next time I shoot it after THAT, because it hasn't happened yet.
Bottom line is, you need to check out that gun pretty thoroughly before you let your kids anywhere near it. You may not have a problem - Valmet shotguns have quite a following among shotgun guys, and they are pretty much like the Savage except with cut checkering, vent ribs, rifle bbl sets, etc.
If you do have a problem, there is a gunsmith in the Northeast who specializes in Valmets. I'll try to find his name if you need it.

I think the title gunsmith is often loosely used!

I will keep that in mind that if someones last name is Smith that doesnt mean they know squat about guns.

I have a 333. WONDERFUL!!!!!!! It is one of the best shooting shotguns I have ever picked up. The ejectors are a nice touch. Congrats on your purchase.

Per the 1973 Savage Arms Catalog: New - 333 12 and 20 gauge The 333 is a unique blending of walnut and steel that's been precision made to precise Savage specifications. THe rugged lockup on the 333 is extra tough. Monobloc locking rails are engaged by a lockin shield that snaps forward as the gun is closed. This shield overlaps the breech for added strength. All metalworking is as clean and smooth as a pearl, inside and out. Bluing has taken heautifully to the finely polished surfaces to give a deep, rich luster. The 333 has the features to go hand in hand with its rugged dependability. A selective single trigger, wide vent rib, automatic ejectors and cocking indicators. Top tang safety is right under the thumb for instant use. The two bead sights get you quickly on target. THe French walnut stock has a high lustre finish. Custom grade features also include fleur-de-lis checkering. $273.50 The 333 was basically a slightly fancier version of the 330, though looking at the pictures they definitely used different receivers. The 330 didn't have the vent rib or high luster stock finish, only had a single bead sight, and had a different (less fancy) checkering pattern. The buttstocks also differed in shape.
As long as there's still lead in the air, there's still hope!

It's based on the design of the old Remington Model 32, an excellent over/under of which the design rights were sold to Kreighoff and became it's Model 32. The sliding top latch is a very good design. Thanks...Bill.

awesome... the 330 that I have on layaway has a vent rib on both the 12 and 20guage barrels
Just one of those deals, I hoisted it ...it felt good , pointed well, and looked real nice...after I put money down on it I had to find out just what was it??

Very good shotguns, I used to sell them when I was in the gun retail business.
