Ok, I have a project going on a Springfield - - - G&H style rifle with iron sights to match a scoped Springfield.

Have found an NECG front sight which is just right, but the rear is not so easy.

Does anyone have experience with a rear sight which is rugged, good for 3 yd to about 150 yd? If I need speed, can flip up the larger bead on the NECG, but most of the time better accuracy would get the nod.

Thanks.

Lyman 48, if you are aiming to create a classic G&H '03 sporter. I can't remember seeing any G&H pre-war sporters that didn't have one in place. You can remove and replace the slide for low scope usage and have it return to dead nuts zero every time. Drop in a slide blank when the "working" slide is removed to keep it "dressed up". There's a reason they were called the Cadillac of receiver sights.
