I have decided that I am going to get some real (higher end) big eyes in the near future. I have pretty much narrowed down the contenders to these two models (I can still be convinced otherwise). I am leaning toward the Minox for weight. They both seem excellent optically, but I have not found anywhere that has both to compare side by side. Might any of my learned Campfire compatriots have a recommendation?

There is a nice comparison just like you want right here on the
Fire. Rick Bin, wrote the article on "Big Eyes",. I would
recommend reading it.
Maybe someone can post a link.

I believe this is the article of which you speak. The Minox that are reviewed are the heavier 15x58 with ED glass. I dont see a mention of the Kaibabs.

I own em both.lol
I am a big eye nut. Used the Minox this year on my deer hunt and my buddy used the Vortex. Hard to decide. But I think I need to use the Minox a little more.
They are hard to pick between the two. I got both for a great price. The Vortex run a few hundred bucks more when compared to the demo Minox Doug has.
I like em both, but if I was buying at market prices, I would get the Minox. I am a bargin shopper but at the same time I have to like what I am buying. Like I said I like em both.
I will say this about Vortex. They have one of the best waranty service on the market. That itself is worth something.

There is another direct review on these 2 binoculars.
Google, "Optics Thoughts".

Go to binoculars, Ilya Koshkin, knows his stuff.

Sorry, this is a comparison of the Swaro, and the Vortex, but
good reading.

I had a buddy who recently ordered the Minox and we were very disappointed. I think the Kaibabs are head and shoulders better than the Minox. Minox has a very good warranty too.
