I was just wondering how the mule deer population is in northern bc. They are hard to come by in region 8 this year.

Don't know what your idea of northern bc is, but I have hunted the area NE or Burns Lake, BC several times and never saw a deer.The locals told me that the wolves got them all long ago. I have seen several wolf packs while hunting there

Where in region 8 were you? I can point you to a few good areas if your willing to do some hiking.

Hunted moose around PG a couple times, saw only a few deer.

Mule deer are thick in 7a and 7b....you just have to know when and where to look for them!!! Although I think there are better mulie spots around Kamloops...

Region 8 is closed now for mulies of course,but there have been some good bucks coming out of Region 3. Monashee

I'm always up for a good hike if you want to give me any tips, flyhole. I'm heading to region 3 this weekend in hopes of seeing something.

I knew them both well - I shot with them. And, when it came to anything to do with rifles or shooting I respected their knowledge more than just about any one I have ever met.

Your dad and uncle probably forgot more about rifles, shotguns, hunting, shooting and gunsmithing - than most men could ever hope to learn - even if they lived 100 years.

Be very proud.

I miss them.
