I'm hoping someone here knows of a stock maker who could replicate a couple of stocks for me. I have a couple of 99Hs with carbine butt plates that I would like replicated and also a very nice manlicher stock on a post mil 99 that I'd like a few more of. I haven't been able to find a source for the carbine butt plate replacement stocks or this particular manlicher stock. I'd post pictures of the manlicher to see if someone recognizes who made it, but can't figure out how to post pictures.

Thanks
Scott

Boses of Nebraska does duplication, lots of folks here have had work done by them.

There's another guy with a great rep, bit pricier I think.. Argh. Somebody will pop up with his name.

There is a guy in Dushore, PA whose name escapes me right now. IIRC he was sick a while back. Don't know if he's back.

AH.... Michael Kokolus. gunstockduplicating.com

The absolute best stock guy for a Savage 99 is Dennis Pritchard. Dennis has an auction on GB now, so you can contact him through that. His work is nothing short of phenominal. Guessing that I spelled that wrong but, Dennis is simply amazing. GB auction item is 260673574 and the title is, "Savage 99 Best of the best. Some of the "purists" out there may not agree with what he does, but in my opinion, he takes a regular 99 and turns it into something that Arthur Savage wanted his guns to look like. He is the best, if you can get him. . . . . . .

His listings are under THUNDER RIDGE 99's.
He only does wood on them. Quite impressive I think.
I have one. Wish he was a relative as I would have him do all of mine.

i look at the auction, it appears in his photos that the wood is lower than the metal around the top tang and i think i see some gaps at the back of the tang and around the rear sight bump on the barrel,,,maybe not, i would like to see better pics of the wood to metal fit, not just the finish and checkering,,,

I looked at the auction, and that guns wood to metal fit is so much better fitting than any Savage that I have. In fact, I have 2 guns from the factory, in near perfect condition, that have wood so high behind the tang that a peep sight would never fit there. I will take a gun like this in a minute.
