Ed,
I suspect you are right about the bourbon sales and a host of other liquids that contain alcohol.
I've brought brandy to the last two hunts and Pat swiped most of it, and then blamed me for making him drink it.
In any event(and who the hell knows what that will be) I think we will all have as much fun as the law allows while standing up.
Glad you are joining us so you can experience it for yourself.

Steve,
Put me on the "probable" list. I have one training conference I have to confirm dates on, but I should be there.
Ed Outstanding! I'm fairly certain I owe you a round or two after not managing to make times work when you were in Manch. George I will hold you to that! Ed

I spoke with Alan, the owner of Wilderness, and this is what we have worked out for additional options.
-A second hog that is either a Russian or weighs over 200 pounds will cost $475
-A second hog that is 200 pounds or less, and is not a Russian, will cost $250.
-Any hog that is within the holding area for Fallow deer will be $250. Apparently the hogs will eat the Fallow deer fawns.
-Meat held overnight can be frozen to ensure you get it home in good shape. But bring a cooler(s).
-Meat that is not wanted can be donated to families in need and to church groups. There is no formal program.
-The down payment, which is due the first week of January, should include that it is for the 24HCF along with your handle. It's a little tough to keep track of names when everyone has two of them. Hell, I have trouble with names when there is just one of them.
-We'll have a hunters/guides meeting the morning of the first day to clarify the ground rules, and answer any questions( like, do we have to weigh the second hogs before we shoot them to make sure they are under 200 pounds and how can I tell a Russian hog?).
I asked Allen to check this post for accuracy, and to add anything he thought would be helpful.
This hunt is growing beyond expectations. It will be great to meet our old buddies again, and to meet new ones.

Hey Tom...Steve is busy. PM me a copy of your check and I'll take care of you. To be safe, just send a blank check.

From what I've seen they'll eat just about anything including their yutes. Land sharks!

stxhunter,
This has come up in the past when we went to Caryonah. In a couple of cases, the person who put down the deposit traded places with someone who decided to go at the last minute. In another case, Caryonah allowed the deposit to carry over to the next year.
Because of the much larger group we have for 2012 at Wilderness, and because they are much more accommodating, I believe that you would just get your deposit back and they would hope that you could make it the following year.
I'll bring this up with Alan at Wilderness when I next talk to him. But I would be very surprised if they did not return your deposit.
Stand by.
Steve

stxhunter and rockchucker,
One of the reasons for early starting of the process to hunt at the Wilderness was to give those who might have scheduling issues time to work them out.
Here's hoping you both can make the hunt. We'll leave a light on for you!

At this point, I'm worried about going to the hunt myself. This is getting pretty weird, and I'm very sensitive. Or so I'm told.
