Oh I'm reading it Tzone...I'm reading it. This too shall pass. Sometimes I look at living with ND like dodging bullets...this bullet I will dodge too just like some of the "other bullets" he has wanted. Your safe Pam. The Pug is not for sale for any amount. http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/rvs/2718579452.html

That Pug is in NE Minneapolis. That's practically in your neck of the woods Tom. Dave will have a place to stop and rest on his purchase and recovery efforts!

Thanks Stan.
Mule, Thanks. I'm still trying to decide between a shoulder mount and Euro. He's caped out and in the freezer.

Griz, love the pics of your camp!...I gotta look into that Pug, never heard of such a thing, but I think we need one! Pugs have been around for quite awhile, but have been bought and sold at least twice. They were originally made in Bruce Crossing, MI than they were sold and made over around Cameron, WI. There now made down in Mississippi. Check out Pug Power on the Web. New ones are more UTV like and don't appear to be made much lighter than the old models.

We're supposed to get 0-7" of snow. If we get some it will be messy because it's 34* out now. I hate sitting home knowing I'm not going deer hunting for 49 weeks. Maybe I can sneak out next weekend for a pinch.

Deer stand report.
Sat this morning until 11:30, nuthin. Got back to cabin at noon. Dusty's chili is really good, had 2 bowls of that with 2 glasses of beer with green olives in the beer. Took a 1 hour nap, got up at 2 and headed back to my stand.
Lots of good fresh tracks on east side of my stand. Its been trying to snow all day but it just can't get going. Very cloudy all day.
White bear, lady friend and bear cub may come see us at camp tonight. I hope they do, I'm going to fry some northern pike tonight.
I forgot to take my underwear off of the wood spirit's face today. (Sorry rooster, I'll explain)
Rooster gave us this black walnut log with a carving of the wood spirit's face in it. Wood spirit is supposed to bring you good luck. Our wood spirit has been failing us this year so we decided to motivate him by hanging my underwear on his face until he comes up with a deer for us.
The idea was to pull the underwear off his face so he could see and breathe but threaten to put them back on if he didn't bring some luck.
Am I going about this wrong? We are considering waterboarding as well.
4PM, the magic hour. Be very quiet now please....
Something clever here.

36*, foggy and still raining at 5:15 PM. Supposed to turn to snow tonight, but it will be a slushy mess in the AM if it does.

Threaten wood spirit with fire, if that doesn't do it nothing will.

Probably a really fat squirrel is my guess. But they are about to start their rut, so the squirrel hunting is going to get good in couple of weeks, and it might be a more profitable way to spend time than more of the same deer hunting you guys are experiencing.

White bear, baby bear, lady bear...
They was all here at camp tonight and helped us eat some fried northern pike. Of course they brought so dang much stuff with them too. (Food and drinks)
So glad they stopped.
The sky is still trying to drop snow but it's just a teaser, no fair.
I pulled the underwear off the wood spirits face, we'll see how it goes.
He's on double secret probation.

One year we had a white plaster Budda about a foot high which someone brought to deer camp and sat in the cook shack.Every morning the ritual was to rub Budda's belly for good luck. After two weeks in the season with no one even seeing a deer I took Budda outside and applied a .308 bullet to him. After that we started seeing and killing deer. I'm not advocating violence on the wood spirit.Just relating my former experience with appeasement of/reliance on anything other than skill and luck.
