OK.And assuming we are safle close to max, bullet runnout. IME this trumps all else.Crooked ammo will never shoot, no matter how the other components are juggled.

In most cases A, D or C, but sometimes E and F. Never had B.

+1

All can be equally as important. After finding a combination of brass, bullet, powder, and primer, one that will group well. Option E will usually fine tune that load.

Accuracy wins all in my book, or are we using the chrono for pressure signs?

I don't play much with loads anymore. I just calculate the barrel time (Chris Long's OBT model), run it through Quickload. Select a powder that fills the case between 92 and 98% and gives good velocity. Develop around that optimum, and done you are.

I used to vary powder and seating depth, phase of the moon and all sorts of stuff.

It's much easier to stack the deck in your favor before starting.... JMO, Dutch.

Figuring out the mysterious force of nature that makes a load work in your gun, and no other gun.

Read through your load manual on the how to's of reloading like I suggested earlier and then get back to us...You may also want to buy a couple more load manuals from your favorite bullet supplier. I've got them from sierra, Nosler, hornady, and speer. There's also small handbooks that cover one cartridge and has just about all the reloading data in it you could ever need. I've got those for just about every cartridge I load for. Make sure you have an understanding of the tips and tricks, recommended procedures to produce quality ammo and buy the little helpful tools that make life easier like hand held power tools that debur the case necks inside and out and also clean the primer pockets. Learn what you need and also things you can live without (like digital scales for example, they are nice but not necessary). It's also nice to keep your cases clean so a good tumbler makes sense.

Bullet then powder.
A very important factor in load development is bench technique. Every round sent downrange needs to be sent the exact same way.
