Hey All - for years I've run BFG AT KOs on my 96 F150. Loved them. They wore good and were good in the snow and off the beaten path.

Yesterday, I bought a new (to me) truck. 2007 Chevy Silverado and it has some cheap off brand LT tires on it. I see BFG now has new tire called the Rugged Terrain which looks like a decent tire with maybe a little better on the road performance (not the the AT KOs were bad).

Just wondering if anyone is running these new tires and what you think of them?

Thanks.
Rob

I have a friend who has used them on his Chevy 1500 HD and has been pleased with them over 40k miles.

These just came out recently. Might you be thinking of the Rugged Trail series?

Read some reviews on them....they are factory tires on on alot of PU's & SUV's....you'd be better in invest in some BFG AT KO's.....

The Rugged Terrain is a new tire. It got a good write up in a 4 wheel drive mag, but I haven't seen a tire get a bad write up yet.

Good point.

I ended up going with General Grabber AT2s. Very similar to the BFG AT KOs but about 25% less $.

Bought one of the 1st sets sold here in June. So far I've got about 6,000 miles on them and my 07 Tacoma. They ride well and seem to wear well. I've had them rotated once. Wet pavement handling is much better than the Cooper ATR's they replaced. I haven't had them in any really bad off road situations yet, but I think they will do at least as well as any other all terrain tire. They are not a mud tire and I don't expect them to perform like them.

I ran the BFG KO's on my 3/4 ton's for years and loved them. I switched to the Mud Terrain a few years ago and havent looked back. My Jeep had the trail version on it when I bought it. I just couldnt trust them so I put on the tried and true BFG Mud Terrain. The trail tires are basically a street tire for a 4WD.

Im in the woods/pastures/mud 5 days a week. Its not worth the risk of geting stuck even once for me.

Those are not the same tires he talking about. Your thinking of the Rugged Trail, not Rugged Terrain.
