Gee whiz, I am too late to the party. I was all over that, but I see I got beat to punch.

My wife will pretty much touch everything but a leech. But she doesnt exactly like it. A little tentative at times. When one of her offspring is in need of more bait, she caves and gets the job done!

Hey, we havent had much Christmas talk on here yet. What are the plans? Any great gifts that you are giving?

I will start. We are hosting Mrs Berettaman's Dad's side of about 40. It will be the first time most of them have seen our house, so I know I will be cleaning house like a banshee prior to.

and the best present I am giving....I bit the bullet and got the wife an Ipad2. She doesnt ever ask for much, so this should really surprise her. Oh, speaking of asking, she asked for a vacuum this Christmas! Really!

We're hosting two Christmas parties at our house. Christmas gets quite nuts in our family since both mine and betsy's parents are divorced and re-married. There is a lot of folks to cover.

We kick it off at our place on Sunday and it gets nuts-er from there.

I do have the week between Christmas and New Years off. I'm kinda looking forward to it.

With our kids divided right now between Ft Sill and Ft Bliss its going to be an off Christmas for us....dinner with my sister and her family on the 23rd...dinner at Lisa's folks for us n them on the 24th. Christmas Day it's just us so we are hosting an "Orphan's Christmas" for some of the empty nesters around the neighborhood we know. I'm cooking a prime rib and a turkey in the smokehouse...so hopefully no one gets poisoned.
Outside of various female appreciation sundries...I've got Mama a new shooting iron. Going to try to get her into an Encore in .243. 12 yrs ago I practically destroyed a Ruger #1 trying to get it to fit her. She's only 5'0...so she has no reach....and she's all...ahem...chest so that shortens her reach even more so I am trying again. I've re pitched the butt and bobbed the barrel to 20". If in the end it doesn't work out I guess I'll have yet another truck/tractor gun.

Hope everyone's Chrismas Season progresses nicely,

Scott n Lisa

We get together with my brother, sister and SIL along with their families Christmas eve. The group is so large we were going to have it at a motel, but my SIL wanted it at their home for one more year. My daughter and her family will be at our house Christmas day. Our son is out in Portland so we'll most likely Skype with them.

You guys talk about this Christmas deal like it's right around the corner or something.... I'm just catching up on rest, cleaning guns and putting all the orange clothes away...

Say, what day is it anyways?

Must be getting close to December?

I put all the orange away but I haven't brought myself to clean the guns yet.

I'm going to use the .22 and the 20ga next week and the week after, so those two will stay ready. I don't have to shrpen any knives that's for sure...dang old things didn't get used.

Uh, fiberglass doesnt rot. So why would you need a different boat? I cant wait for this explanation.....I am almost as anxious about this as I am to hear what ND did to his trailer.... eek

ND, dont put all that blaze away, you can still whack timber chickens. Oh, and this Christmas deal is a long way off, no need to get hurried. You can wait another week or so with no worries.

Got out rooster hunting today and a buddy and I shot 5. Awesome hunt. A couple ol' longtails (23.5") and one really young one. Berettadog had a good day afield and is now sleeping.

There is a certain 6 year old that said, "that's bad ass" when I showed him. So it must be.
