I have a request of anyone who owns one of these wonderful older Tikkas. I'm restocking (again) a M695 with a McSwirly. This rifle is currently furnished with a Boyd's laminate stock, which I had made via a duplicator. While lovely and accurate, she's a heavy beast with that handle; hence the desire to restock again. The hitch is that the chap who did the restocking work glued the recoil block into that stock. For the new stock, I'm going to either have to try to extract that original block from the bedding and reuse...no doubt a somewhat destructive process...or have a new one made. The latter is preferred at this stage, but I need to provide a machinist with the correct dimensions. If someone can readily provide me with those measures, it would be nice. All I can offer in return is warm thoughts from the northern prairies and Season's Greetings.
