I'm interested in having a 257 Rob converted to an AI. How much should I expect to pay a decent gunsmith for this service? I assume I'll have the barrel set back appropriately, etc. To that end, can anybody recommend any smiths in Oregon or Washington? Thanks.

In La Grande Oregon is a terrific custom rifles gunsmith named Jim Rector. He can AI that tube for you pretty easily. IIRC, cost should be in the $125.00 range as he will remove the barrel and set it up in a lathe to get it spot on. I have used him quite a bit as has gunwriter Ross Seyfreid, who lives nearby him. Don't quote me on that price, it just seems to me what he quoted me or charged me for similar once. Could be old info.
