Am wondering whether the Magnum Research BFR in the chambering of 45/410 would be able to digest 454 & 460 rounds? If so, why wouldn't they market it as such? Must be some reason why it can't...anyone have any idea?

They offer the 460 and 454 chamberings. But I assume the 410 should not be shot in either of those. The 45 can be shot in both the 460 and 454 though.

if you want to shoot 454 or 460 why not buy that model they make them Nah, I was just curious. Besides, there is a guy on GB selling new BFR .50AE's for $550 "buy it now" + $25 ship, so I got one of them coming. I heard (but its not confirmed on the BFR website) that a fitted .500 JRH cylinder is $150. Might do that if I can confirm the price.

How much do they recoil with standard loads? 330 grain that the same guy's got for sale.

I really want a .50AE. But I have yet to talk to anybody that has owned/used them on game.

I looked up the 50 AE and it appears to be a 44mag length case, except 50 cal.

I wanted an Auto Mag in that caliber, but never obtained one. That was back when IAI was building the Auto Mag. They were selling for $599 two years ago, so maybe $550 isn't a huge bargain, but the guys I was reading really thought $599 was so... On another forum somebody said the recoil in a Desert Eagle was severe. Most seem to think it is a bit more than full-power .44 Mag', in a revolver. I'd like to hear from somebody on here who has some actual experience though.

I remember when these BFR .50's were for sale by CDNN last year for $599. That was cheap then. $550 is real cheap! I cannot find any BFR revolver, new or used, that is under $750, unless you get lucky with one on auction. I figure I can get this one here for $575 (shipped) then have a 500 JRH cyl for another $200 or so (with ship) and do all this "on the cheap". Sure beats a customized Ruger for $2000+ in a Linebaugh chambering. Leaves me funding for yet another gun or two!

It has been years since I shot a Desert Eagle but the things are so big and heavy they really soak up the recoil.
