Boy I heard a whopper today on another forum. He was talking about Hi-Point pistols and I said I didn't think much of them. He said he was at the range shooting his slug gun at 200 yds, when he noticed the guy next to him shooting at a steel plate at 300 yds. with his 45. The guy didn't hit it, so he asked if he could try, said he hit it 5 out of 8 times. But here's the best part, his brother was there, and had not picked up a handgun in 30 years, yet he was also able to hit the steel target at 300 yds. 5 out of 8 times with a Hi-Point C9. I don't know about ya'll, but I think the s##t is getting pretty deep.

I don't know what style they were using, but he did post a picture of a slug gun on a bench and a small speck at the 300 yd. range, that he said he was hitting 5 out of 8 times.

A buddy of my asked me to shoot this fly at 600 yd., but I wouldn't because he wouldn't tell me if he meant the green one or the black one. He said they were both black, so I knew he counldn't tell.

One time long ago I was shooting a blowgun across the yard. We walked down to get the darts and one was stuck through a fly. I still claim I shot it on purpose!

People are [bleep]' hilarious aren't they?
When I was visiting some folks over Thanksgiving I had a loud mouth repeatedly bring up hunting and fishing every time I was near him. Finally he approached me and explained he was
"A country boy to the core, I mean through and through."
"A sharpshooter, I can hit anything."
"In 15 years I'm going to own a ranch in Montana." I really liked this one and asked him which part to which he replied: "I haven't decided yet."
Then I asked him if he ranched. "Not yet".
Then I asked him if he had ever been to MT. "Not yet."
This dude was a treasure chest of entertainment.

Yeah some people just let anything come out of their mouth, no matter how stupid. One of the other guys on that forum states his Hi-Point is just as reliable and accurate as a Sig, Beretta, Colt, etc. and he would trust his life to it anyday. I said to each his own, but not me.

My favorite ones are the "knowledgeable" types I run into behind the gun counters in places like Cabelas or Sportsmans Whorehouse.

I remember a couple years ago my niece's boyfriend (who was a bit of bonehead) was talking about how deadly he was with his Winchester 94 .30-30. His claim was that he could hit a Coke can every time at 100 yards offhand using iron sights. I shoot well enough to figure that is a fairly strong claim. He insisted that it was the gospel truth.
My response was to suggest a litle wager. We would split on the cost of a box of ammo. He would fire 20 shots. Each hit I would give him $5, each miss he would give me $5. Wow, did the backpedaling on his shooting claims ever start then when others said that wanted to come and watch this event.

My friend and I were shooting at our clubs range, using his Ruger 44 mag off hand he hit the steel plate at 135 yards 4 out of 6 shots that he fired. Then it was my turn. I took his 44 mag fired 6 shots, missed all except for the last one, it hit the chain the plate was hanging from. He said to me, you need to practice more. I told him anybody can hit a steel plate, it was the chain I was aiming for. See it's all in the way we look at things. I shoot a S&W .357 mag but I always jump at the chance to shoot his Ruger 44 mag, it's that much fun.

I don't like shooting a friends new gun for fear I'll want to buy one!

Travis Me, too, after I win the lottery. Until then.... It was like I was listening to a 12 year old. I wanted to ask him just how much ranching he'd done, but his earrings, black dress shoes, and designer jeans (let's not forget the properly groomed goatee) summed up his ranching know how for me... "To the core!" Still LMAO! Travis
