I picked up this H&R .44 Magnum real cheap in a pawn shop. I had the scope, rings, and sling in my junk box.

Whatever trips your trigger--let us know how it shoots.

Typically the pistol calibers shoot about 1 to 1.5 MOA at 50 yards. The .45-70s and .30-30s will usually shoot MOA or better at 100 yards. The Handi I rechambered to .357 Max would shoot MOA at 100.

What kind of throat did you put in your 357 MAX? Not the SAMMI forcing cone I hope.

I don't belive all the tales of the forcing cone throat. I have 2 factory T/C barrels in .357 max and they both shoot just over MOA at 100yds with the old remington factory loads.

Nice rifle, Swampy. I like the action on those Handis. The button is in exactly the right place and gun is easy to open with one hand while the other hand retrieves the next round. I'm gonna get one and whittle a pretty walnut buttstock and forend for it.

I like those H&Rs. Yours can be made to shoot the 445 SuperMag too should you decide you want a little extra.

I have never shot a T/C factory barrel in this caliber, nor have I used any factory ammunition, but I know my Mike Bellm re-chambered 357 Magnum 10 inch Maximum does manage to be better than sub MOA with some loads.

I shot it a little today. It's pretty accurate and the recoil is very minimal.

I love carbines in handgun calibers. Lots of good shooting to had with them.
