I saw a Springfield XD Tactical today at Sportsman warehouse. It fit my hand really good! Does anyone have experience with this pistol? Thanks!

Yes, I have one, no I did not buy it because it said "tactical"...  I love that it has the 5 inch barrel. It is now my nightstand gun. Easy to take down and clean, reasonable "personal defense" accuracy, etc... not much not to like for the price.

Yes I have the xd 45 tactical and a xd 45 compact. I have around 4500 rounds through the tactical and about a 1000 through the compact with zero problems. I think you will like the gun. The compact is my carry gun. Buy one and enjoy!

9mm XD's are selling for $380 or so. That's hard to beat.

The fit of the XD line is identical for the 4" Service and 5" Tactical models, and too close to call for the 3" Compact with a grip "X-tension". The same is true for the XD/M line, although the barrel lengths are a little different. For me choosing one of the XD or XD/M pistols comes down to barrel length, not fit. There's a lot to like about the Tactical pistol.

I just visited SA's website for the XD specs. If I'm not mistaken, the Tactical is only the 5" original XD in .45acp. The Competition model is the newer XDM 5.25" that comes in 9mm,.40 and .45acp. The Competition model also has nicer sights and a weight reducing slot milled into the top of the slide like the G34/35, while the Tactical does not. Didn't know if anyone else was confused too. I'M interested in the Competition model.

If I'm not mistaken, the Tactical is only the 5" original XD in .45acp. That's correct. I've got a 4.5" XDM in 45ACP and love it. I've also got a 5.25" competition model in 9mm that I use for steel shoots and like it as well. The trigger isn't any better in the Comp model compared to the standard models, but the longer sight radius and the adjustable sights are nice.

I saw a Springfield XD Tactical today at Sportsman warehouse. It fit my hand really good! Does anyone have experience with this pistol? Thanks! I have the XD Tactical 5 inch barrel in 45 ACP . Nice pistol, but on the big side for Conceal Carry. The pistol hold 14 round counting the one in the tube.
