These new Vanguard S2's are super nice.....The old Vanguard was nice but they fixed it's shortcomings with a great trigger......Adjustable down to 2.5 lbs.....it is a two-stage trigger that nearly breaks like glass.....better than any factory trigger than maybe the Savage Accutrigger.....the stock is also upgraded with grippy inserts......the finish is not as shiny, it has a beadblasted look to it....the new safety is 3 position.....Nothing in the market compares for the money.....These guys really shoot.....Weatherby guarantees sub MOA with factory ammo.....bump..

Would this action fit into the older VGX or Sporter model, stocks? Are they a true "2-stage" trigger, and if so, where does the poundage break take place?

Yes they are the same action....I'm gonna guess it breaks around 3.5 to 4lbs from the factory, but can be adjusted down to 2.5lbs. I have not had the bolt in this rifle yet.

Just checked and distributor to dealer price on this is about $425 so I would think you'd be hard pressed to find one at the gunshop for under $500. Figure no sales tax and this sucker is a great deal....damn if I didn't have a tikka '06 that shoots so good this would be mine.

Am very interested in your rifle, but found the same in a combo with scope, sling and case for 439.00...what's your bottom line? Also this is a right-handed rifle?
