From those that have taken animals with both
Does the Nosler 130 AB have any advantage over Hornady 129 SP as far as knockdown ?
they are being shot from a .260 REM

Have used both from a 6.5x55, worked fine but a 120 TSX, goes faster, does as well on easy shots but will penetrate farther if that is required.

I've used both and they do an excellent job. Can't really say I prefer one over another. I've never had either stay in a deer or a passing coyote. I've never shot anything bigger than a deer with my 260 or these bullets. 150 yards was probably the longest shot...

As to accuracy, the AB shot better out of my Ruger and the Hornady shoots better from my Montana.

I've used both in my 6.5x55 on a modern action. Accubond did shoot better and did more internal damage. All deer ended up dead dead. "Shoot better" for killing deer at a 100-150yrds by 1/2" in accuracy difference is pretty irrelevant.

I would guess the Hornady is a bit "tougher" and would retain more weight since it's not designed to create shrapnel like the Accubomb. You will be fine either way.

I used a Sierra 140 to try something different this year and was impressed the holes it made.

I've used both, and both do fine. The Hornadys left a little bigger exit wounds for me. I haven't used the Interlock on anything really big, though. I did catch an Accubond in a really big boar, but to be honest, in that particular animal, I doubt any bullet would have given a pass through from a .260. The higher BC of the Accubond is pretty appealing. They both shoot very accurately in the right load. I like the BC of the accubond, but like the cost of the Hornadys...

I disagree w/the label 'Accubomb' - but suppose if one is shooting a bullet at warp speed, hitting heavy bone at close range, then perhaps.

That said, drilled a buck thru both shoulders 100 yd shot a few weeks ago w/my 260, there was no 'bomb' that went off, it wrecked the internals - deer was hit very hard, nearly dropped at the shot, made it 29 of MY steps...so just a few bounds and down.

I like both, used both, killed w/both, both work very well and likely kill very similarly if you had enough data to compare, along w/say the similar 125 Partition.

I do like Barnes, but everytime I hear people talk - LIGHTER Faster - one has to not overlook what a lighter bullet's BC does to it's terminal speed - DOWNRANGE as we don't normally - or I don't - shoot game at MUZZLE DISTANCES The 120s are good, but heavier is better - over a long haul if that matters...

Not recovered a 130AB or 129SP fwiw. I did recover every animal shot, deer ran further w/my 129 kills but I would not draw any firm conclusions. Accuracy nod goes to AB by small margin, the 129 is however very accurate and fine for hunting.

To the OP - NO deer is going to survive ANY hunting designed 120-160gr 6.5mm put thru vitals Just avoid FMJs...

I have recoverered just one 130 grain AB. I shot a very large mule deer buck at 40 yards as he faced me. I put the bullet directly into the center of his brisket and found it in the hide just in front of a rear leg. It held together but had mushroomed almost to the base. Launch speed was 3300 fps.

Very nice - what's the weight if you know?

My 150 PT from a 270 launched at 2850 did the same on a Mulie buck at 275 yd - weighs 88gr. Lost front half of the lead.

264 WM?

In my experience they both are accurate and killers in my 6.5x284.
Use what shoots best in your gun.
The AB does make that a real cool looking round.fwiw.

75 grains. The cartridge is a 264 win mag. I think that close range shot was a pretty good test. I did my load work up during the summer crop damage season so I got to do some terminal testing while working out my drop chart. I never could stop one of those white tipped wonders.
