Bought a raggedy Mod 37 from Cabelas. The stock was black from the old finish and grime. It was cracked in the wrist also. Jim can do a stock. I feel that I picked the right guys for the job.

Several brands were used by Remington on the 37s. This one is a Remington. They also used Lyman, Redfield, and Vaver.

im ignorant on this type of gun. what caliber is it? .22 rimfire unless they did other calibres as well -- I have only seen the .22 rimfire. I think this model was made up to about 10 years after WW2. It is quite overbuilt for a .22 rimfire. I'd love to pick one up (or a Rem 40x rimfire!). John

They are 22 rimfire. It was top of the line. They quit manufacturing them because of the expense. The 40X took its place. Even the magazines were milled fron 4140, not stamped. Only 12,000 were made from 1937-1965.
