Remington makes the 40X with a 20" barrel, would love to have one in 222 Rem.

My father likes his 20" LTR in 223 and I like my semi-custom 700 with 21" 223AI barrel. We are not pounding prairie dogs all day, so we don't mind a bit more blast as compared to a 24-26" barrel. The short tubes make it much easier to shoot from a truck or ATV.
Now with even more aplomb

Here's another 20" barrel. 17 Rem. Would an 18" barrel be to short? Another 17 Rem.

I believe CDNN has the Remington 20" tactical rifles on clearance right now. I might be wrong though.

All of my custom predator(calling) guns,AR,s SS and bolts have 18 or 20 in bbls. Far easier to swing to the weak side and the velocity loss is not at all significant in a calling rifle. They will roar though. For prairie rats and gophers and such, off a table ,24-26 works well. And cover up those ss bbls, they really stand out..
Hunt hard-shoot straight-kill clean-apologize to no one. PREDATOR EDITOR
