just curious how stable it is with temperature changes.i been using it and havent noticed a difference as with h380 in the cold.

hunting in Minnesota for years, I never noticed a problem with 4064... a buddy use to handload me 180 grainers with 4064 for my 30/06...
never seemed to change minute of deer, down to 20 below or so...
or else I wasn't that good of a shot...although I use to waste these little chipmonk type squirrels that would get up near you in the next tree and do this real loud chattering...
never heard them called anything in particular in Minnesota, but down in WVa, my family down there called them FairyDiddles..
wasted more and a couple of those at 75 to 100 yds with the above 4064 load at temps of 10 degrees or lower...where we hunted which was about 50 to 60 miles south of International Falls, or 50 to 60 miles north of Hibbing..

I have been shooting it since the mid 80's, Nevada to Mexico and never noticed an issue. It is one of the go to powders in the 243 from 70-80g bullets and seems to like max charges in my Rem's.

I've also used IMR 4064 for years in 243 w/70-75 gr bullets and never had a problem that was noticable due to temp changes. But for now I've replaced it with Varget which seems to be real close to 4064 in burn rate and the same weight of powder in my loads. If I was going to stock up on powder I'd pick Varget over 4064.

im trying to switch everything over to varget but it aint going to happen.some rounds just dont shoot good with it so ill get it down to 2 powders.ive eliminated h380 h4895 re15 so far.vmax and 4064 are a keeper as is 55gr hpbt and varget

I presume your rifle is chambered in 22/250 (?) from the powder references you mention...but you didn't mention the chambering or the bullets you prefer or the game pursued....
I have used IMR 4064 in the 22/250 - and 7x57 - for many years with great results in all kinds of weather. It has worked for me.
Lots of good all around powders, and IMR 4064 is one that works well enough in hunting applications for several calibers.

IMR 4064 is my go to powder in the 220 Swift and 243 Win and never had a problem in hot or cold weather.
A Doe walks out of the woods today and says, that is the last time I'm going to do that for Two Bucks.

Before the extreme line came along from Hodgdon IMR4064 was the go-to powder for temperature insensitivity. It's a great powder for several applications in the accuracy department as well.
