A 6.5x55mm "Swede" would be nice in a RSI, but just a bit too close in performance and caliber size to the very popular and classic 7x57mm. I.E., I don't see any real advantage of the 6.5x55 compared to the 7x57 which already exists in a RSI. As a result, the 6.5 simply becomes just another "me, too" RSI caliber. Jus' my 2... One can take Anything other than an '06 and say it's another 'me too' caliber - and if people did not want something different, then nobody would buy anything but the 06.
Thankfully we have choices. A Rigby is a fine choice, but that does not take away from the Swede and it's equal ability. Both IMHO are deserving.

Now if Ruger REALLY wanted to come up with a classic RSI... how 'bout a 7x57 R?!?!?!?!?!? Now THERE is a truly classic caliber, especially in a classic single-shot rifle like the Ruger RSI with that great Mannlicher style stock! Jus' "dreamin' ", guys... jus' dreamin'... Strength & Honor... Ron T.

Given the old 54 was in an M-S, I cannot figure why a 54, 55, 260, or Creemoor is not in the RSI.
Looks like you got your wish Sir. Todd

I never cared much for the RSI Number 1s. Seems to me there's enough forend trouble already without making the dang things twice as long.
The 1As, on the other hand, are possibly the best looking American sporters ever.
What fresh Hell is this?

Wouldn't mind one in 6.5x55, throated for 160 RN bullets. Somehow seems potentially classic to me. You read my mind. I wish they would add another 2" of barrel though.

The 6.5X55 RSI's will be the last of the 2015 lineup to be released. (hard to rind RSI length walnut)
A golf course is a sad misuse of a perfectly good rifle range.
