I have a Savage 220 that I'd like to reload for and haven't found (a) good resource(s) for instructions and recommendations for reloading 20 gauge sabot slugs. Factory ammunition is fine, but at $3 per shot I can't shoot as much as I want. Any suggestions?

Google "CSS sabots", they have all the componets and loading data except the roll crimper. You will have to buy the 20 gauge roll crimper from Ballistic Products.

I have been loading my own 20 gauge slugs for 3 years. Cost is about $1.35 per load. I hope you have saved your Federal and Hornady empty cases.

Thanks, Doc! No Federal, but I do have Hornady and Lightfield hulls, also some Remingtons now.

Does anyone make a satisfactory sabot/wad for the 20 gauge Lyman slug? I have a mold for it.

The Lyman slug is designed to work with any 20 gauge wad that is appropriate for its weight and the type of hull that you choose.
The 20 ga. Lyman sabot slug weighs 350 grains +/-, depending on the alloy. Many loadbooks will have recipes for its use.

Google Slug-R-Us and try their SPW if you want to replicate Lightfield. They can give you load data as well.
