Racial or not, they did their job and deserve to be reconized for it. I'm more interested in the story then the movie anyways. It looks like a good one either way!
A different breed of men back then. Can't ignore what was done. The AIrmen were as good as any who flew, black or white. They didn't get the recognition they deserved and today's black man gets the recognition he deserves. Unfortunately today, that recognition is mostly negative because of the rampant thuggery that's occurring all over the country.
I'd bet the "Airmen" this film portrays, would be embarrassed by the behavior of the children they brought into the world.
"Don't blame me for the sins of my fathers, if I can't blame you for the sins of your children" Dan C Chamberlain
"It's a source of great pride, that when I google my name, I find book titles and not mug shots." Daniel C. Chamberlain
Good sentiment Mink, many here on the fire have served this country but I wonder how many of us would if we could be barred from businesses based on our skin color, payed a lower wage than our white counterparts for the same work or even murdered without fear of consequences in some parts of the it if our assailant was white. I find it kind of amazing that any black man in 1940's America would willingly serve and yet thousands did.
Besides, I love historically accurate(though I'm sure some dramatic license has been taken) movies like this, so I'll go to see it.
Well said. I reckon they'd be sad to see their great grandkids do to us what Hitler and Hirohito couldn't . I'd hate to be a cracker heading for the car after watching that show on the south side of Houston.

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time by the blood of patriots and tyrants.
If being stupid allows me to believe in Him, I'd wish to be a retard. Eisenhower and G Washington should be good company.
It'll be run of the mill Hollywood revisionist fare. The Blacks will be like all knowing saints, and the whites will be complete racist losers.
Seen this before.
I agree. Hollywood making money on white guilt. Same game plan that got us Obama. Funny that more just can't see the obvious. I wouldn't pay money to see liberal propaganda. Feeding and funding the left.
I ain't guilty about a damned thing. When a person does something outstanding, credit must be given. I went to bat for a fellow who was being discriminated against by being denied the award he had earned, he received it against all the odds and racist liberals arrayed against him. He gained confidence in himself, going on to gain additional education and licenses. He now owns a home, has a solid family life and a secure career.
When I get annoyed about race and race baiters, I refer to the rule that says, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you," I'm not interested in a particular race, but in individuals.

Now there is a good person! There is hope for this forum yet.
AN OATH IS NOT SOMETHING YOU GIVE BACK UNLESS YOUR A POLITICIAN!
RACISM ALWAYS EQUALS FEAR!
THE WANTS OF THE FEW SHOULD NOT OUTWEIGH THE RIGHT OF THE MANY!
I grew up in the south, yep different breed of black men before the "Great Society" programs LBJ started. Now we have a lot of fatherless welfare black men. Back then, families and churches, black or white, helped the poor, widows, orphans, but not able bodied men. People back then were ashamed to get any welfare benefits for fear of being considered lazy good for nothings. Blacks worked jobs that Hispanics work today. They even made enough to provide for their families, maybe poor wages, but productive and upward mobile. We had textile mills also, that provided a lot of jobs for both black and white. Now they all went overseas. Back then 75% of teenagers had part time or summer jobs, today it is only 25%. We learned the value of working for the dollar. Working for it, you took care of what you bought and didn't destroy it.
