Took my Omega out yesterday afternoon and used the advice I got here on Campfire. Used BH209 and seated the sabots very firmly and used KimberMan's insurance card bedding trick. Shot some nice groups with my Omega with yellow tipped SW's and 100 grains of BH209. Tried PBs,Harvesters, and SWs with the blue short sabots without much success. No problems with BH unless I used the Remington MZ primers so I switched back to WIN 209s and never looked back. Thanks everyone!!

What were your BH-209 charges for the T/C 200 grain shock wave?

It's a 50 cal. Omega Z5 I've had for a while. Never did a whole lot with it, knocked over a few deer over the years. Stuck with the 100 grains by volume load of BH209 under all sabots and PBs. Hate the trigger pull on the rifle, way to much for me. It has a Nikon Omega 3X9 mounted on it. The Nikon is all right for a low end scope, I personally don't like the eye box on it but the eye relief is nice, it's the one without all the circles. Im my opinion it's more to do with the seal of the longer black sabots than which bullet you use. I've shot T777, Shockey Gold, Goex, and White Hots in it, the BH209 is the cream of the crop to me. No mess, no crud ring, accuracy holds for several shots, and not much smoke. I used a Power Rod to seat all loads to save on my hand. Hopefully I'll have some more time and try shooting out to 200 yards soon, need to resupply before heading out again. Thanks everyone.

Glad to hear you've got it shooting well!

The Omega is just a downright great muzzleloader...
