Norm I have a model A Saddle Gun in 32-40

22" barrel serial No. 1109XX ca. 1910-1911
Last patent date of 1899. Blade front, missing rear sight.
Has an "M.S.A. Co" (Marbles?) peep on the tang.

You mean an 1899F saddle ring carbine? Or an 1899A Short Rifle (SR)? I presume you mean the SR.

22 inch barrel so it would be an 1899 A SR (Short Rifle)
Tang sight variation marked MSA is quite scarce.
Does it have just the 1903 patent date? (not 1903 and 1905)
It was made by Marble Sporting Axe before they started calling them selves Marbles for short.
Recently I found an 1899 303 SR with a rear folding sight (not a tang sight) with MSA marking.
Great caliber to find as well. Thanks for posting data.

Yes the SR (Murray's shows it listed as a saddle gun) Last date on the barrel Oct. 03 1899.

The tang sight is October 20, 1903

Wish you were in Canada.

You should letter them, just add the $25 to the price of the gun, it's a good sales feature.

laugh laugh laugh I simply asked to see pictures, he clearly lists them for sale... and if I was at all serious about it, I would have PMed him and not posted publicly... my guess is, and nothing against the OP, but my definition of 80% and his might be different... and likewise guess that he is getting more PMs then he can handle from ppl that likely care more than I do... could certainly be something I would be interested in... but not enough to get worked up over it...

Haha, I have pictures of an 1895 that looks just like the one Jeff posted, the guy wanted $800 for it.

Wish North America would run out of crack pipes soon.
