I am going to start reloading 22H and have read that is is easy to pull the neck off the case if the inside neck is not lubed well. I plan on neck sizing after the first reloading of the virgin brass which I will FL resize the first time. I am using Lee Deluxe dies and the neck button is smooth not knurled like some other dies makers do. I am looking for a good dry lube to dip the necks in, any suggestions?
Thanks, Bob Too many calibers and not enough time for the working man to hunt with them all.

The dry mica stuff works fine on them.
Imperial sizing wax is good too, but I always just spray them like any other case.

I have reloaded 22 Hornet for a few years now. I use a standard set of RCBS FL dies. I just use the Dillon spray lube on the outside of the cases like any other bottle neck case. I have never had the problem you describe. I had a Hornet many years ago and loaded for it as well, same deal, no problems.

I dunno where you heard that. Maybe it happened back in 1937, but not in my experience.
I use a Hornady die backed off about .1" to partial size, and only lube about every 5th neck with a nylon brush very lightly rubbed with Imperial wax. Have been loading a LOT of Hornets for quite a while now and have never bad a neck come off.

Mule Deer, that was a misquote from me on the case seperation on reloading, it was from a PM about head space on a guys contender and getting case seperation after 3 reloadings, not from the neck expander ball. MY BAD!!!
