All I know is that Romney is going to lose due to not being able to energize the base

The base will certainly unite in support of ousting Obama. The base is only voting for Romney,Gingrich and Santorum. Who else could you possibly think the conservative base is voting for?

Souter is every bit as bad as either one of Obama's nominees. The key is to stop Romney in the primaries so we don't find out how bad his SC nominees would be.

Romney has the looks and the Charisma and a lot better looking future First Lady, not to mention the kids look like the Kennedy's.  All true but sad it comes down to that.

This isn't Saddam Hussein's Iraq - we don't have to vote for anybody, and besides there will be more than two candidates on the ballot in most states - there will be an alternative to the two liberals with (D) and (R) beside their names if Romney is nominated. I don't see how people can justify being sluts for the most liberal Repub (by far) that has been running this cycle while the primary season just got started.

Sununu was the one who vetted Souter. and who is to say that Romney wouldn't have a Sununu as his chief of staff? Actually, even more likely than another Souter fiasco is that Romney would want one of his ideological kin (a liberal) on the Supreme Court.

If we don't have a liberal in the White House (i.e., no Obama or Romney), we have a much better chance of having conservatives nominated to the Supreme Court. I don't understand why anybody would think a liberal (Romney) would nominate conservatives to the federal bench.

Since Obama can't run on his record, the Dems are going to have to resort to mudslinging. It's all they got. Romney is a puzzy! He reminds me of Ned Flanders. However, I think, that if that's the only tactic that they have, Newt is the man to make 'em look silly for trying it.
I can just see Mitt Romney debating Obama over Obama Care and Obama saying, "Well, I got the idea from you".
I'd Like to see Newt and Santorum team up and get the Non-Romney majority.
Too many people buy stuff they don't want, with money they don't have, to impress people they don't like!

Didn't fly by me at all. The chances that Obama will nominate socialist radicals is 100%. The chance that Romney would nominate something less radical is 100%.
I know, and I agree; these choices are hard to swallow, but Romney has the best chance of defeating Obama. Look past your core feelings and be pragmatic. I know we say that time after time, but I remember all too well how the Republican Party was gutted and wounded for two decades after the Goldwater disaster.

I don't like Gingrich, and I hope we have a better choice when Super Tuesday comes around because I'm not going to vote for Gingrich in the primary, but the pickings are slim in the current Repub field. Obama will energize the Republican base.
