One of these has spoiled my plans for a different rifle purchase - and I'm pretty excited. I'll be using it for bear mostly, but will certainly carry it for deer and elk on some hunts.
Bullet choice seems somewhat limited in this chambering, or maybe I'm looking at the wrong manufacturers. I am already tooled to reload for this caliber. Any suggestions?

I've used the 300gr Hornady XTP mag bullets with success on deer (huge damage). I've been planning to use it for pigs, but the pigs have not been cooperating lately (haven't seen any lately).
I needed to add a higher front sight because the rifle shot high.
I've also liked shooting 45 colt +p with the rifle. Same bullet.
Haven't tried any other bullets.

Have a look at Beartooth Bullets 300 grain hard cast bullets sized at .454.

Beartooth bullet 340 LFNGC. Actual chrono velocity of 2182 fps with WW 296 powder. Drill and tap your receiver for an XS ghost sight. You will need a .600 tall front sight that XS sells.
