on a 84M 243/7-08/308/338 Fed, how long is the mag box? 2.82"?

On my new 7mm-08 it is 2.830".

They vary... I had one that was 2.815, and another (worked over by a smith) that goes 2.855.
The port allows loaded cases about 2.835" to come out just fine. You can go longer if you shorten up the ejector.

I'm using 2.825" to ensure smooth feeding. Dat's what I do so the will fit in my Rem SA as well. Makes it much easier.

I could squeak out 2.83" on my late model 7-08. Would typically load to 2.82" to ensure reliability for hunting.
