back when gold was about $400 per ounce, my wife won a one-ounce card credit suisse for a door prize at a dental convention in Atlanta. It's been tempting to unload it as of late. I guess we will just hang on for a little longer, no rush.

Always been just out of my reach. Back in high school when I was working part time and silver was $5 an ounce, gold was something like $250 an ounce. Of course, min. wage was $4.75/hour and a paycheck was something like $120 after taxes.

Gold is a commodity and rises and falls. It's like market timing of equities - some have the kanck and others don't.

Precious metals will fall in price when the euro fails and investors seek to offset their liabilities by investing in the dollar.
However, the dollar is currently being devalued and will fall shortly after the collapse of the euro.
At that point, precious metals separate from the stock market and will surge in value and the dollar and the American stock market plummets.
Wait for it.
Buy the dips in precious metals shortly after the euro fails.
$2700 gold and $90 silver will soon follow.
