I assume an 06 chamber will not clean up a 57 mm chamber. What about the 06 Ackley chamber? Thanks

I don't know for sure, but I was under the impression that in the post war years, 8mm-06 was used to clean up 8x57 chambers because x57 brass wasn't as plentiful stateside as 06, maybe the smiths had to set the barrels back to do it.

I think it will...the old x57 case has quite a bit of taper in the body. Any '06 based AI will clean it up for sure.

I've drawn a lot of these rechambering possibilities in MasterCam but I can't recall if I've done that one.

If the bore is good I'd turn it in to an 8mm-06.

You are going to need something much bigger than an '06 sized reamer because a 57mm chamber would be something over 2 inches in diameter.
